Yes. Changing model names and numbers year in and year out with tiny design changes... it's enough to drive a person mad. You can't recommend anything to friends that way without digging in catalogs and wondering what the difference is between the old XYZ-99 and the new XYZ-990.
That's it absolutely. That's the industry being its own worst enemy as each corporate entity pursues its own warfare against other corporations at the expense of customers, shops and, ultimately, cycling itself.
