Who ordered the toad pancakes and then didn't finish?

This drifted up by the basement door to the shop. Strange to see that big a toad in what passes for an urban parking lot in these parts. This ain't Florida.

Sad as this death is, and it is, it is also mysterious. Why did the toad cross the parking lot?
